Bon Entendeur is one of the top electronic music collective in France rising up in popularity in the past few years. They came to us for a specific task: Give a new identify to their music through a new logo and album cover.
We came up with many different interpretations of their visual universe and landed with this iconic logotype aiming to embody their positiveness. We chose to convey a dynamic and cinematic feel with the font curves, and all-caps. See below this logo in use in posters to concert stages.
Some key considerations for our design work: font pairing for the album title, color combination from the new color palette, the conceptual meaning of pictural elements, consistency of their communication.
We also worked on the visual presence and treatment of the duo photo (texture, hierarchy, color..) [credit: Théo Saffroy, photographer]
In previous explorations we featured vintage characters (from original newspapers from the 60s) representing a sweet and naive nostalgia, coupled with the visual presence of old fashioned patterns & colors.
We had the idea of representing the warmth and joy of the collective by featuring a sun symbol within the logotype. This version would work perfectly with more cinematic style intro of their content (i.e. video clips).
Previous iterations of photos treatments and visual layouts that we liked but were considered "too strong" to give the main highlight to the duo.
We are thankful to have worked on such a fun brand for a mainstream music artist in France and we are proud of the result of this strong collaboration with Nicolas, Arnaud and Pierre.
